Mar. 09, 2009

hey my family!
How are you guys doing?
well this week has been a little crazy.. and i'll explain why.
Starting out with monday and tuesday me and my companion were ill. meaning that well we were either sleeping our sitting around for basically 2 days. although we did get better yay!
Then on wednesday we did some work in the morning and afternoon, but then at 3 o clock we got on a train and headed for geneva for a Zone Conference. that night we stayed with the elders of Annemasse (my trainer elder Eaton haha), which is not too far from geneva, in fact its basically almost the same place. just different countries i would guess. anyways so the reason that we went to Geneva for Zone Conference is because Elder Paya.... if thats how its spelled, of the area presidency (quorum of the seventy i think) came for a mission tour. it was good but it was wayyyyyyy hard because we didnt get a whole lot of sleep that night. but it was good, it went late so we missed our train back to valence so instead we went and stayed with the elders in Lyon. oh yeah at Zone Conferences they have the missionaries who are going home at the end of the transfer give their dieing testimonies (dieing just means going home, when we get to the field we're born, our trainers our dad, etc...), so my companion and a few others gave there testimonies and its was really good. so wise and experienced! haha.
so then we got home friday and actually started to work... kind of, fridays are pretty packed here in valence. starting with studies in the morning until 10, then we do weekly planning from 10-12, then we do lunch and french study, then this week we went and saw Agnes (elle va bien) and so that took up basically our afternoon, then at 6 we have an english class we do, and then we have meeting and so basically we had like 1 hour to actually try and find people... it was kind of nice haha!
so then we had a lot of work to do saturday which we didnt really get to do because we had this rendezvous with an african man who just so happened to have been kicked out of the apartment he was staying in, seemed drunk, (said he wasnt), but its kind of cold so like we had the rendezvous scheduled for 3, he's african so he was late by an hour, (every time we called him he said j'arrive, i'm coming), then we had the rendezvous. then we had another rendezvous and right at the end he called us again and was like je vais mourrir de la froid (i'm going to die from the cold), can we go to your church so i can warm up. so we did that, i feel really bad for him but like.... theres really nothing that we can do... i wish there was but there isnt.
then sunday was good, church was good, then we went and ate at the Family Meloens house, and they are such a cool family i dont know if i've said anything about them yet i think so but they are so cool! and they made us like an american meal with chicken, fries, green beans, ice cream. it was great!! haha! and then we went and worked, did some contacting, and then we went and packed. we went to Grenoble last night, so we are there right now, we're going to go play basketball and football. it should be fun!
today i studied about Revelation and the Light of Christ. in alma 17:3 it talks about the importance of prayer, and fasting in order to obtain the spirit of prophecy and revelation, in order to be able to Preach with Power and Authority. i thought it was a great scripture. then about the Light of Christ it talks about how we all have the light of christ in us, everyone in the world, it helps us know between good and evil, kind of like a conscience.(idk if thats how you spell it) and the further our knowledge of the gospel grows, the more succeptable we are to the promptings of the Light of Christ, or the Holy Ghost through the Light of Christ, because before we are given the Gift of the Holy Ghost, he touches us through the Light of Christ. anyways just a cool insight. and whats cool is that for us, showing the example will help others fill the light of christ and bring them closer to christ. its great!
Well i love you all and hope you have a great week!
