Hey family
how is everybody doing?
well this week has been really good. the highlight being the Baptism of Agnès. So basically this week comprised of a few rendezvous, a lot of preparation and it was really good! We had the baptism this past friday at about 5 oclock. well thats when it was scheduled at least. it became like 5 30, 6ish. because Agnès was late because of traffic.
we had to do it in Lyon because Valence doesnt have a baptismal font. so basically thats that... we just had to start a little late no big deal! so i guess because mom asked for "details" that means i have to give them. we started out singing o j'ai besoin de toi, i had to play the piano.... so yeah. then elder Weight gave the opening prayer. after which we had a little musical thing, just a song that agnes wanted played during it. it was "ces mains" or these hands. idk if yoyu know that song but someone did it in French so yeah. it was really good. then Sr. Bevilacqua gave a talk (sr bevilacqua is the ex-sister-in-law to agnes and her husband is the Stake President of Nice.) then we had the Service of the Baptism. Fr. Bevilacqua baptized agnes and me and elder Weight were Witnesses.... then while they changed clothes Elder Weight and I (to get my english grammar correct) gave a little teaching until they came back. then Agnes bore her testimony, and then a member who had helped us with the Rendezvous bore his. and that was that. it was good!

ummm lets see what else....
apart from that nothing way too exciting going on.

we are in lyon today for SUPER BOWL II haha... we played football against the other zone today, it was a lot of fun! and now i'm dead...

ummm lets see idk if i have anything else for you...

well our teaching (during the baptism) was on Alma 32. and how Faith is like a Seed and you have to try it, to grow the tree, to see if the fruit is good. so you have to follow the commandments to get a testimony of it for yourself. we also compared that to how, this is kind of what i've thought of since then, this tree that we grow is like the Tree in the Vision of the Tree of life. and so like the actual tree is the Love of god, so in growing our faith, we grow closer to god. and the fruit is Eternal life, so, these things we do, grow this tree which will produce the fruit that will give us eternal life... we also talked about how Christ said there will be many prophets after me (true and false), so you can judge them by their fruits. their actions. so, we know what Christ's fruit is because we can use it every day(the atonement), and thus we can know that he was the Son of God. we also talked about how 'The Book of Mormon' is Joseph Smiths "Fruits". and how we can know if the church is true and that he's a prophet by fulfilling the Promise at the end of the Book. (moroni 10:4-5) so yeah... that was cool.
and yeah well i hope you guys have a great week! i Love you!
